Halo Wars Strategy - Boom Strategy

This Halo Wars strategy is used when the player tries to upgrade, and then produce a large number of “teched up” units.  If you focus your Boom Halo Wars strategy on upgrading just one type of unit, then your opponent will easily counter you; instead your primary focus should be on upgrading one type of “main” unit, and your secondary focus should be on upgrading and producing “support” units.  To effectively use a Boom Halo Wars strategy, you should choose your “main unit” based on a strategy to counter your opponent’s units; and you should choose your “support” units based on a strategy that will optimize the use of your “main unit”.  The Boom Halo Wars strategy will be very effective in the middle and late parts of the Halo Wars match, but vulnerable to a rush in the early part of the match.

Covenant Leader Boom Strategy:

To execute this Halo Wars strategy, your starting build order should be Temple, Warehouse, Warehouse, upgrade your Leader’s regular attack, and Warehouse.  After your have built your Temple, as part of your Halo Wars strategy you should use every building site to build Warehouses except the last one, which you should use to build your choice of infantry, vehicles, or aircraft to counter your opponent’s units.  While you are building Warehouses, a good Halo Wars strategy will require you to use your vehicle and Leader to collect supplies; then send the vehicle to scout your opponent’s army, so that you will know what type of counter units to produce.  A good Halo Wars strategy will allocate your resources among a mix of Leader upgrades, counter units, and technology level upgrades at your Temple.  The goal of this Halo Wars strategy is to “out-produce” your opponent in resources early in the match, so that you can send an army that is bigger and stronger than his.

Covenant Scarab Boom Strategy:

To execute this strategy, your starting build order should be Temple, Warehouse, Warehouse, upgrade your Leaders regular attack, Warehouse.  After your have built your Temple, as part of your Halo Wars strategy you should use every remaining building site to build Warehouses.  This strategy is risky because you are “putting all your eggs in one basket”.  This Halo Wars strategy will fail if your opponent Rushes you.  However, if you can produce a full upgraded Leader and two Scarabs, then your Halo Wars strategy will succeed.  The goal of this Halo Wars strategy is to “out produce” your opponent in resources early in the match, and then send the Scarabs and Leader to wipe out your opponent’s larger, but weaker, army.

USER SUBMITTED: Single Scarab BOOM

I have won lots of 1v1s with a Scarab. However, there is no such thing as a Scarab Rush. It will take you at least 8-9 minutes to get your first Scarab, which is NOT a Rush. Building a Scarab as quickly as possible is called a BOOM. This strategy works best against players that are spending too much money on a TURTLE defense, but will work against any strategy if you execute it properly. I also like to use the Prophet of Regret, because he has a ranged attack. As long as you have an upgraded Leader with adequate support to protect your Scarab, you should be able to beat anyone. First, build a Warehouse an send your Ghost out to scout; followed by 2 more Warehouses and a Temple. Once you have enough supplies, upgrade your base to Citadel and build as many Warehouses as possible. Next, start upgrading Prophet of Regret and producing Elite Honor Guards. Now upgrade to Age of Doubt. *If the map has a neutral Reactor, now is the time to Capture it, using your Leader and then teleporting an Elite to garrison the Reactor. Start upgrading your Warehouses, and continue to upgrade Prophet. Now, start saving money until you can build Scarab. While Scarab is building, finish upgrading Prophet and continue producing Elites. When Scarab is about 75% complete, move Prophet to a discrete location near the enemy's base where you can safely teleport your army. AS SOON AS your Scarab is complete, teleport your army to your leader nd attack. This strategy will fail if your Leader is unable to protect your base from an enemy attack; so make sure you effectively use your leader, i.e. outrun enemies, lure them into an ambush, use cleansing beam efficiently.
